Our journey in the soft furnishings industry started in the year 1971 under the name “Deepak Furnishings”
which was established by Pandit Meher Chand and his son Mr Sham Sharma.
The set-up was retail based with a small outlet in Karol Bagh. Over the years, the brand gained recognition and by early 2000, Deepak Furnishings was successfully running 12 stores spread over various cities across the country.
New generations bring new thought processes and ideologies.
That's exactly what happened when Mr. Devesh Sharma (Managing Director,Pret-Fab) joined the family business. Being intrigued by the international market, he also came with a vision to diversify and grow internationally. He established an export company in the year 1997; Daix International which specialized in made-ups.
Being in the midst of soft-furnishings for 30 years and having a knowledge base which wasn't just limited to the local market, he brought about another change.
The Pret-Fab vertical was set up by him in the year 2012 with a simple vision; “To bring about a Western trend shift in the Indian market.”
In the first year itself, Pret-Fab had launched 25 European collections with majority investments being directed to in-house stocks. The main motive was to run a well administered cut-length module with minimum lead delivery time.
Along with this, emphasis was even given to well established brands from all across the globe each having their own signature thereby bringing different perceptions and designs of the world under one roof.
In mid 2014, Pret-Fab had over 10 brands for fabrics and wallpapers associated with it and over 30 self-curated collections
which were being distributed to the top 100 retailers of the country, having representation in each major city of India.
Understanding the needs of the market and fulfilling them was always the main focus. Stain Free fabrics, scrubbable wall coverings, out-door fabrics, black-outs and high martindales (rub-test) are all a part of our package.
